Which came first? A quick, addictive guessing game about timing and history.
The Newer Older Game is a fast-paced trivia and guessing game. Each round, you're shown two things (movies, brands, video games, gadgets, or historical events) and you simply decide which one came first. It sounds simple, but the closer the years, the trickier it gets.
We wanted a game that anyone could pick up in seconds, with no instructions or accounts required, but that still rewards genuine knowledge and quick thinking. Dozens of categories mean there's always a fresh angle, whether you're into film, gaming history, sports, or pop culture in general.
Pick a category (or let us mix things up), then race through rounds in Classic mode, test your reflexes in Beat the Clock, or challenge yourself with Hard Mode, where the years are much closer together. One wrong guess ends your run, so every round counts toward your high score.
All category data and dates are curated and fact-checked for accuracy against public reference sources. We keep the game family-friendly and free of restricted content, and we're always adding new categories based on player feedback.
We also built a spin-off called The Better Worse Game. Same fast rounds and same rules, but instead of guessing release dates, you guess which movie or TV show has the higher audience rating. There's also an Episodes mode that narrows things down to specific episodes within a series, where the ratings sit much closer together. Ratings are pulled from IMDb and checked periodically, since scores can shift as more people vote.
